The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Cleaning Operative to maintain high standards of cleanliness across the school site. This role is essential in ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff. The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday, 3.30pm to 8pm, for 22.5 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, corridors, toilets, and communal areas to the highest standard.
  • Use cleaning equipment and materials safely in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
  • Ensure all areas are left tidy and hygienic at the end of each shift.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to complete cleaning tasks efficiently.
  • Follow all school policies and procedures related to cleanliness and safety.
  • Report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate staff member.
  • Adhere to the school’s safeguarding and health and safety requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in cleaning or related roles.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • DBS clearance is a requirement for this role.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the workplace.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a clean, tidy appearance.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary based on NJC Point 3 (£24,796 FTE pro rata).
