The Opportunity:

As a Welfare Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing and welfare of students and staff across the school. This role is essential in creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that promotes both academic and personal development. The successful candidate will be passionate about student welfare and committed to the school’s mission of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and coordinate welfare initiatives across the school to ensure student and staff wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with teaching and support staff to identify and address student needs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional health.
  • Provide guidance and support to students and staff on welfare-related matters.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of welfare programmes and interventions.
  • Liaise with external agencies and professionals to support student welfare needs.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to welfare activities and outcomes.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion, respect, and support throughout the school community.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a welfare or pastoral role within an educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Knowledge of child welfare, safeguarding, and mental health support.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy school environment.
  • Commitment to the school’s values of hard work, integrity, and kindness.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and delivering welfare and wellbeing programmes.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and child protection policies.
  • Experience with pastoral care in a school or college setting.
  • Understanding of mental health and wellbeing support strategies.
