The Opportunity:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining order and supporting student learning when teachers are absent. You will ensure students stay on task with pre-planned activities, contributing to a positive and productive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise whole classes of students during teacher absences, ensuring a safe and focused learning environment.
• Deliver pre-planned learning activities as directed by the teacher.
• Maintain discipline and uphold the school’s standards of behaviour.
• Support students in completing set tasks and provide guidance when needed.
• Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and support staff.
• Assist in managing classroom resources and ensuring a smooth transition during absences.
• Contribute to the overall well-being and development of students.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Experience in classroom supervision or teaching.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a group of students effectively.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment.
• Flexibility to work term time only, with a 32.5-hour weekly schedule.

Preferred

• Previous experience in a school setting.
• Familiarity with curriculum planning and delivery.
• Experience working with students of varying abilities and needs.
• Knowledge of behaviour management strategies.
