The Opportunity:

As a Compliance Officer, you will ensure the school operates in full compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and internal policy requirements. This role is essential in promoting a culture of compliance across all areas of school activity and supporting the school’s ongoing commitment to excellence and governance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and internal policy requirements.
  • Monitor and review school procedures to maintain compliance standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on compliance matters.
  • Liaise with the in-house Legal Advisor to address compliance issues.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement policies to strengthen compliance culture.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on compliance activities.
  • Support the Compliance Administrator with part-time assistance as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in compliance, legal, or regulatory roles.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK education laws and regulations.
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in a school or educational environment is essential.

Preferred

  • Experience with safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Familiarity with curriculum and educational reforms.
  • Knowledge of DBS and reference procedures.
  • Experience in managing compliance audits or training programs.
