The Opportunity:
As a Graduate Sports Assistant, you will support the PE and sports department in delivering high-quality PE lessons and co-curricular sport, with a focus on hockey and netball. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop your coaching and leadership skills while making a meaningful impact on student development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of PE lessons and co-curricular sports activities.
- Coach hockey and netball teams, with the potential to also coach cricket.
- Work closely with pupils to develop their sporting abilities and confidence.
- Collaborate with the PE / sports department to ensure a cohesive and engaging programme.
- Promote a positive and inclusive sporting culture across the school.
- Assist in the planning and organisation of sports events and fixtures.
- Provide feedback and support to pupils to enhance their performance and enjoyment.
- Maintain a safe and encouraging environment for all students involved in sports.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Relevant sport or physical education qualification or experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with children in a trusted and responsible role.
- Enthusiasm for coaching and developing young athletes.
- Commitment to the school’s values and mission.
Preferred
- Coaching qualifications in hockey, netball, or cricket.
- Experience in teaching or coaching at a junior or secondary level.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate students.
- Knowledge of sport and physical education curriculum requirements.
- Experience in working within a school or educational setting.
