The Opportunity:

As a Graduate Sports Assistant, you will support the PE and sports department in delivering high-quality PE lessons and co-curricular sport, with a focus on hockey and netball. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop your coaching and leadership skills while making a meaningful impact on student development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of PE lessons and co-curricular sports activities.
  • Coach hockey and netball teams, with the potential to also coach cricket.
  • Work closely with pupils to develop their sporting abilities and confidence.
  • Collaborate with the PE / sports department to ensure a cohesive and engaging programme.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive sporting culture across the school.
  • Assist in the planning and organisation of sports events and fixtures.
  • Provide feedback and support to pupils to enhance their performance and enjoyment.
  • Maintain a safe and encouraging environment for all students involved in sports.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant sport or physical education qualification or experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with children in a trusted and responsible role.
  • Enthusiasm for coaching and developing young athletes.
  • Commitment to the school’s values and mission.

Preferred

  • Coaching qualifications in hockey, netball, or cricket.
  • Experience in teaching or coaching at a junior or secondary level.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate students.
  • Knowledge of sport and physical education curriculum requirements.
  • Experience in working within a school or educational setting.
