The Opportunity:

As a Graduate Sports Assistant, you will support the delivery of PE and co-curricular sports, with a particular focus on football and rugby. This role offers a valuable opportunity to develop your coaching and leadership skills while making a positive impact on students’ physical and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of PE lessons and co-curricular sports programmes across all year groups.
  • Coach football and rugby teams, with the potential to also coach cricket.
  • Work closely with the PE and sports department to ensure the highest standards of teaching and student engagement.
  • Assist in the development of individual and team sports programmes tailored to student needs.
  • Encourage participation and progression in sports, promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents to support student development.
  • Contribute to the planning and organisation of sports events and fixtures.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A graduate with a relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence in working with children in a trusted role.
  • Enthusiasm and drive to support student development in sports.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Coaching qualifications in football, rugby, and/or cricket.
  • Experience in teaching or coaching at a school or club level.
  • A track record of participation in sport at a high level.
  • Experience with curriculum planning and delivery in a school setting.
  • Knowledge of sports development and student engagement strategies.
