The Opportunity:

As the Head of PE and Leadership & Service Coordinator, you will lead the development of a dynamic and inclusive sports program that supports the physical, social, and emotional growth of students. This role is central to creating a vibrant sports culture aligned with the school’s strategic goals and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the PE Department, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality physical education curriculum across all year groups.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sports program that promotes participation, excellence, and lifelong engagement in sports.
  • Coordinate and oversee school sports fixtures, events, and trips, ensuring effective staffing and organization.
  • Support the development of staff through professional learning and curriculum leadership.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate leadership and service elements into the curriculum and extracurricular activities.
  • Enroll the school into relevant sporting organizations and foster partnerships for collaboration.
  • Promote and support after-school activities, Saturday coaching, and sports fixtures throughout the academic year.
  • Ensure all students, regardless of ability, have access to opportunities that develop their sporting skills and interests.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a PE or sports department within an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum development and delivery in physical education.
  • Experience in organizing and managing school sports fixtures and events.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student well-being and holistic development.
  • Ability to work flexibly and manage a demanding workload.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a department or team within a school environment.
  • Knowledge of leadership and service programs in education.
  • Experience in coaching and working with students of all abilities.
  • Familiarity with international school standards and practices.
  • Experience in working within a multicultural environment.
