The Opportunity:
As the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead, you will be instrumental in embedding a culture of inclusion and respect across the school. This role offers the chance to drive meaningful change and support strategic initiatives that promote equity and celebrate diversity, enhancing the experience of the entire school community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion and embed a vibrant and inclusive EDI culture across all areas of the school.
- Support the development and implementation of strategic EDI initiatives and policies.
- Foster open dialogue and collaboration with staff, students, and stakeholders to promote inclusivity.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of EDI efforts and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Work closely with the Equality and Diversity Board and student committee to drive forward positive change.
- Organize and lead training sessions and workshops on EDI topics.
- Ensure that all school activities and communications reflect the values of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Contribute to the development of a supportive and empowering environment for all members of the school community.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in equality, diversity, and inclusion work within an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of EDI principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives.
- Experience in fostering inclusive environments and promoting equity.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience in working with diverse student and staff populations.
- Knowledge of curriculum reform and educational innovation.
- Experience in leading or supporting EDI committees or boards.
- Familiarity with the Equality Act 2010 and related legislation.
- Experience in managing and coordinating training programs on EDI topics.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Full-time equivalent salary of up to £50,000, depending on experience.
- Term-time working with additional INSED days and one further week during school holidays.
