The Opportunity:
As a Counselling Lecturer, you will play a vital role in shaping the next generation of ethical and skilled practitioners. You will deliver high-quality education and support learners across a range of counselling courses, from Level 2 to Level 5. This is a chance to make a meaningful impact while working within a collaborative and experienced teaching team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective teaching on the Certificate in Counselling (Level 3) and other relevant courses.
- Support learners in developing the skills needed to become confident, ethical counsellors.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the quality of teaching and learning across the curriculum.
- Provide pastoral support and guidance to students throughout their learning journey.
- Stay up to date with industry developments and incorporate new insights into teaching practice.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of course content and delivery methods.
- Participate in staff training and development opportunities to enhance your teaching and professional skills.
- Maintain accurate records and assessments of student progress and performance.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified counsellor with relevant professional experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and support a collaborative learning environment.
- Commitment to teaching and the development of students’ counselling skills.
- Willingness to undertake formal teaching qualifications if not already held.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching or training within a formal education setting.
- Familiarity with counselling courses and curricula at Levels 2 to 5.
- Experience with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) accredited programmes.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and welfare best practices in education.
