The Opportunity:

As a Counselling Lecturer, you will play a vital role in shaping the next generation of ethical and skilled practitioners. You will deliver high-quality education and support learners across a range of counselling courses, from Level 2 to Level 5. This is a chance to make a meaningful impact while working within a collaborative and experienced teaching team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective teaching on the Certificate in Counselling (Level 3) and other relevant courses.
  • Support learners in developing the skills needed to become confident, ethical counsellors.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the quality of teaching and learning across the curriculum.
  • Provide pastoral support and guidance to students throughout their learning journey.
  • Stay up to date with industry developments and incorporate new insights into teaching practice.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of course content and delivery methods.
  • Participate in staff training and development opportunities to enhance your teaching and professional skills.
  • Maintain accurate records and assessments of student progress and performance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified counsellor with relevant professional experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and support a collaborative learning environment.
  • Commitment to teaching and the development of students’ counselling skills.
  • Willingness to undertake formal teaching qualifications if not already held.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or training within a formal education setting.
  • Familiarity with counselling courses and curricula at Levels 2 to 5.
  • Experience with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) accredited programmes.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and welfare best practices in education.
