The Opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced or newly qualified Philosophy and Religious Studies teacher to join a high-performing team. You will deliver engaging lessons at A Level, support student development, and contribute to a collaborative, innovative learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality A Level Philosophy and Religious Studies lessons to a large and motivated student cohort.
- Provide pastoral support as a tutor, ensuring the well-being and academic progress of students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and continuously improve teaching methods.
- Stay up to date with curriculum developments and incorporate innovative teaching strategies.
- Support students in achieving their full potential through personalized guidance and mentorship.
- Contribute to the school’s wider community through extracurricular activities and events.
- Participate in staff development and training opportunities.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher status or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Philosophy and/or Religious Studies at A Level.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student welfare and pastoral care.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred
- Experience with ECT (Early Career Teacher) training programmes.
- Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Experience in developing and delivering engaging, student-centered lessons.
- Knowledge of current educational trends and technologies in teaching.
