The Opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced or newly qualified Philosophy and Religious Studies teacher to join a high-performing team. You will deliver engaging lessons at A Level, support student development, and contribute to a collaborative, innovative learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality A Level Philosophy and Religious Studies lessons to a large and motivated student cohort.
  • Provide pastoral support as a tutor, ensuring the well-being and academic progress of students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and continuously improve teaching methods.
  • Stay up to date with curriculum developments and incorporate innovative teaching strategies.
  • Support students in achieving their full potential through personalized guidance and mentorship.
  • Contribute to the school’s wider community through extracurricular activities and events.
  • Participate in staff development and training opportunities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher status or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching Philosophy and/or Religious Studies at A Level.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and pastoral care.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience with ECT (Early Career Teacher) training programmes.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Experience in developing and delivering engaging, student-centered lessons.
  • Knowledge of current educational trends and technologies in teaching.
