The Opportunity:

As a Counselling Supervisor, you will provide one-to-one mental health support to students while also offering clinical supervision to trainee counsellors. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a real difference in young people’s lives and fostering professional growth in others.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality, individualised counselling support to students, helping them thrive academically and personally.
  • Deliver clinical supervision to trainee counsellors, ensuring they develop professionally and manage risk effectively.
  • Collaborate with school staff to support students' overall well-being and academic success.
  • Maintain accurate records and report on student progress and interventions.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student mental health and emotional resilience.
  • Attend relevant training, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Uphold the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
  • Work flexibly within a term-time, part-time structure.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified counsellor with experience working with young people or adolescents.
  • Proven experience in providing clinical supervision to trainees.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage risk and support the professional development of supervisees.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Relevant DBS check and willingness to undergo an enhanced check.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of student mental health and well-being support.
  • Experience with therapeutic models and techniques.
  • Ability to work within a team and contribute to a supportive, collaborative environment.
  • Flexibility to work term-time only and part-time.
