The Opportunity:
As a Counselling Supervisor, you will provide one-to-one mental health support to students while also offering clinical supervision to trainee counsellors. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a real difference in young people’s lives and fostering professional growth in others.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, individualised counselling support to students, helping them thrive academically and personally.
- Deliver clinical supervision to trainee counsellors, ensuring they develop professionally and manage risk effectively.
- Collaborate with school staff to support students' overall well-being and academic success.
- Maintain accurate records and report on student progress and interventions.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student mental health and emotional resilience.
- Attend relevant training, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
- Uphold the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
- Work flexibly within a term-time, part-time structure.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified counsellor with experience working with young people or adolescents.
- Proven experience in providing clinical supervision to trainees.
- Demonstrated ability to manage risk and support the professional development of supervisees.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Relevant DBS check and willingness to undergo an enhanced check.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of student mental health and well-being support.
- Experience with therapeutic models and techniques.
- Ability to work within a team and contribute to a supportive, collaborative environment.
- Flexibility to work term-time only and part-time.
