Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of staff and students in Psychology and Criminology, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement departmental strategies that align with the school’s vision and educational goals.
  • Collaborate with other Heads of Department to support cross-college initiatives and strategic priorities.
  • Monitor and enhance student performance, ensuring strong examination results and active participation in extra-curricular activities.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff, fostering a collaborative and inclusive working environment.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to educational research.
  • Maintain strong communication with the Head of Faculty and other senior leaders.
  • Ensure the department remains up to date with curriculum developments and industry trends.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a similar role within education.
  • Strong track record in delivering high academic standards and student success.
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in managing a department with a focus on Psychology and Criminology.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels.

Preferred

  • Experience in educational research or professional development initiatives.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching and learning technologies.
  • Background in curriculum development and assessment strategies.
  • Experience in leading cross-college or multi-disciplinary projects.
