The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Counselling Tutor (Level 5) to teach personal and professional development to second-year students on Wednesday evenings. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and passionate counsellor to share their expertise in a supportive and dynamic educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and impactful teaching sessions on personal and professional development to second-year counselling degree students.
- Support students in developing critical thinking, reflective practice, and professional skills relevant to counselling.
- Contribute to the design and delivery of course content aligned with the programme’s learning outcomes.
- Provide individual and group supervision, guidance, and feedback to students.
- Collaborate with other teaching staff and support services to ensure a cohesive and enriching learning experience.
- Maintain accurate records and assessments in line with academic standards.
- Engage in professional development and training opportunities to enhance teaching and counselling practice.
- Participate in student welfare and safeguarding initiatives as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Level 5 qualification in counselling or a related field.
- Proven experience in teaching or training within a counselling or educational context.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding practices.
Preferred
- Background in Transactional Analysis (TA).
- Experience with higher education teaching or curriculum development.
- Knowledge of current counselling theories and practices.
- Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and student support frameworks.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive hourly rate between £42.84 - £50.45.
