The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Counselling Tutor (Level 5) to teach personal and professional development to second-year students on Wednesday evenings. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and passionate counsellor to share their expertise in a supportive and dynamic educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and impactful teaching sessions on personal and professional development to second-year counselling degree students.
  • Support students in developing critical thinking, reflective practice, and professional skills relevant to counselling.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of course content aligned with the programme’s learning outcomes.
  • Provide individual and group supervision, guidance, and feedback to students.
  • Collaborate with other teaching staff and support services to ensure a cohesive and enriching learning experience.
  • Maintain accurate records and assessments in line with academic standards.
  • Engage in professional development and training opportunities to enhance teaching and counselling practice.
  • Participate in student welfare and safeguarding initiatives as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 5 qualification in counselling or a related field.
  • Proven experience in teaching or training within a counselling or educational context.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding practices.

Preferred

  • Background in Transactional Analysis (TA).
  • Experience with higher education teaching or curriculum development.
  • Knowledge of current counselling theories and practices.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and student support frameworks.
