The Opportunity:

The Cover Manager plays a vital role in maintaining academic continuity and student engagement during teacher absences. This position ensures a safe, structured, and productive learning environment while supporting the overall mission of the school to nurture well-rounded, globally minded individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise classes across a range of subjects and year groups during teacher absences.
• Deliver pre-prepared lessons and ensure students remain on task and focused.
• Manage student behaviour in accordance with the school’s policies and expectations.
• Create a calm, inclusive, and purposeful learning environment for all students.
• Ensure that learning objectives and instructions from teaching staff are followed accurately.
• Support students in completing assigned tasks while encouraging independent learning.
• Promote the safety, wellbeing, and welfare of all students at all times.
• Report safeguarding concerns promptly in line with school procedures.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Bachelor of Education or PGCE with appropriate specialism, or equivalent.
• Experience teaching in a UK or international school setting.
• Ability to manage student behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child protection policies.

Preferred

• Experience contributing to school enrichment programmes and extracurricular activities.
• Familiarity with the UK National Curriculum and international education standards.
• Experience with school management systems and attendance recording.
