The Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor (HLTA) to support effective teaching and learning across the school. This role is crucial in ensuring continuity and quality of education, especially during staff absences. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education and committed to supporting student progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the school is adequately resourced to provide effective cover supervision and lesson arrangements.
- Support teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities and managing small groups of pupils.
- Work under the direction of the Assistant Headteacher to implement planning and assessment strategies.
- Support pupils in overcoming barriers to learning and developing communication, social, and independent skills.
- Provide supervision and guidance during non-lesson-based activities, ensuring a safe and productive environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- GCSE or equivalent qualification in English and Mathematics at level 9–5.
- Child Care, NVQ, or HLTA qualification (related to education is desirable).
- Experience with positive behaviour management techniques.
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum and schemes of work in Literacy and Numeracy.
- Understanding of child development and learning principles.
- Strong written communication skills and high level of ICT literacy.
- Experience in planning, preparing, and delivering work for individuals or groups of pupils.
Preferred
- A degree or other relevant qualification in education.
- Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
- Demonstrated commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
