The Opportunity:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining a purposeful learning environment during the absence of teaching staff. This is an opportunity to contribute to the smooth running of a school known for its high standards of behaviour and academic achievement across Key Stages 3–5.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff
• Ensure students continue to work on tasks set by the teacher
• Maintain a purposeful and structured learning environment
• Support the smooth running of the school and contribute to a positive learning culture
• Promote and reinforce the school’s values and ethos
• Assist in the management of student behaviour and engagement
• Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and other staff members
• Ensure compliance with school policies and procedures

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Good general knowledge and enthusiasm for working with students
• Basic ICT skills
• Strong sense of responsibility and integrity
• Ability to maintain discipline and manage student behaviour
• Experience working in an educational setting, preferably in a school environment

Preferred

• Previous experience in a supervisory or support role within a school
• Experience with Catholic education or values
• Familiarity with the Edmund Rice ethos
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with behaviour management strategies
