The Opportunity:
As a Pastoral Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting students to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. This is a vital position within the Student Services Team, where your skills and dedication will directly impact student well-being and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build effective relationships with students and the wider school community
- Support students in overcoming barriers to learning and academic achievement
- Communicate clearly and sensitively with students, parents, and staff
- Maintain confidentiality at all times and uphold the highest standards of integrity
- Work collaboratively with the Student Services Team to provide a cohesive support network
- Demonstrate patience, understanding, and flexibility in working with students
- Contribute to the school’s positive and inclusive culture
- Support the implementation of pastoral care strategies and initiatives
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Previous experience of working with children and young people in some capacity
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A high level of integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Sensitivity, patience, and understanding in working with students
- A flexible approach and a genuine enjoyment of working with children and young people
Preferred
- Experience in a pastoral or support role within an educational setting
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Experience in delivering support to students with additional needs
- Familiarity with school systems and processes
