The Opportunity:

As a Pastoral Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting students to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. This is a vital position within the Student Services Team, where your skills and dedication will directly impact student well-being and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build effective relationships with students and the wider school community
  • Support students in overcoming barriers to learning and academic achievement
  • Communicate clearly and sensitively with students, parents, and staff
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times and uphold the highest standards of integrity
  • Work collaboratively with the Student Services Team to provide a cohesive support network
  • Demonstrate patience, understanding, and flexibility in working with students
  • Contribute to the school’s positive and inclusive culture
  • Support the implementation of pastoral care strategies and initiatives

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Previous experience of working with children and young people in some capacity
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A high level of integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Sensitivity, patience, and understanding in working with students
  • A flexible approach and a genuine enjoyment of working with children and young people

Preferred

  • Experience in a pastoral or support role within an educational setting
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Experience in delivering support to students with additional needs
  • Familiarity with school systems and processes
