The Opportunity:
As a Cover Supervisor, you will support student learning during the absence of class teachers, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about student achievement and classroom management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise whole classes in the absence of the class teacher, following the school’s policies and procedures.
- Implement work programmes and manage pupil behaviour effectively.
- Assist pupils in relevant learning activities and ensure the safe use of classroom resources.
- Maintain a positive and structured learning environment at all times.
- Communicate regularly with teaching staff and senior leadership to ensure consistency.
- Support the smooth running of the school during short-term absences.
- Promote a culture of respect, discipline, and academic achievement among students.
- Contribute to the overall success of the school by upholding its values and standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in classroom management and supervision of students.
- Ability to implement and follow school policies and procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student achievement and behaviour management.
- Flexibility and willingness to work across different year groups and subjects.
Preferred
- Previous experience in an educational setting, particularly in a supervisory role.
- Familiarity with teaching methodologies and learning resources.
- Experience working with students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
