The Opportunity:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will support student learning during the absence of class teachers, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about student achievement and classroom management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise whole classes in the absence of the class teacher, following the school’s policies and procedures.
  • Implement work programmes and manage pupil behaviour effectively.
  • Assist pupils in relevant learning activities and ensure the safe use of classroom resources.
  • Maintain a positive and structured learning environment at all times.
  • Communicate regularly with teaching staff and senior leadership to ensure consistency.
  • Support the smooth running of the school during short-term absences.
  • Promote a culture of respect, discipline, and academic achievement among students.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the school by upholding its values and standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in classroom management and supervision of students.
  • Ability to implement and follow school policies and procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student achievement and behaviour management.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work across different year groups and subjects.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in an educational setting, particularly in a supervisory role.
  • Familiarity with teaching methodologies and learning resources.
  • Experience working with students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
