The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Art & Design Technology Teacher to shape the curriculum and inspire students in KS3 and KS4. This role offers the chance to lead a dynamic department, raise attainment, and support the school’s mission of academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Art & Design Technology departments, ensuring a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Monitor and support pupil progress, with a focus on raising attainment in Art, DT, Catering, and Engineering.
  • Develop and enhance the teaching practice of colleagues through mentoring and professional development.
  • Ensure effective deployment of resources, including support staff, financial, and physical assets.
  • Safeguard the well-being of all pupils in line with the school’s Catholic Ethos.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons that align with the school’s curricular policies and educational goals.
  • Encourage student engagement and achievement through innovative and differentiated teaching methods.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in Art & Design Technology at KS3 and KS4.
  • Strong leadership and management skills with a proven ability to lead a department.
  • Experience in developing and delivering a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of students.
  • Ability to monitor and support pupil progress effectively.

Preferred

  • Experience in Catholic education or a strong understanding of a Catholic ethos.
  • Knowledge of catering, engineering, or related subjects.
  • Experience in mentoring and supporting other teachers.
  • Familiarity with Ofsted standards and best practices in education.
