The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver planned lessons in the absence of the teacher, maintaining a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Support students with learning activities, ensuring they stay on task and engaged.
  • Assist with the administration of teaching resources under the guidance of the Cover Manager.
  • Work effectively with students, colleagues, and the wider community to support student outcomes.
  • Provide clear and structured supervision to ensure discipline and order in the classroom.
  • Offer individual and group support to students requiring additional assistance.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with the Cover Manager.
  • Adapt to different subjects and teaching styles as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience as a classroom practitioner in secondary schools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good ICT skills and the ability to use educational software.
  • A commitment to student welfare and a safe learning environment.
  • The ability to work flexibly and independently.

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering lessons across a range of subjects.
  • A creative and innovative approach to teaching and learning.
  • Experience in working with students requiring additional support.
  • Previous experience in a school setting with a focus on student achievement.
