The Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated Cover Supervisor to support teaching staff and students across the school. This role involves supervising pupils during teacher absences, delivering prepared lessons, and assisting with administrative and break duties. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a positive learning environment and supporting student progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching staff by supervising pupils in and out of the classroom during teacher absences.
  • Deliver prepared lessons to groups of students with confidence and competence.
  • Manage challenging behaviour in accordance with the school’s behaviour policy.
  • Assist with administrative duties and support breakfast, break, and lunchtime supervision.
  • Contribute positively to the learning environment and student well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other support staff to ensure smooth operation of school activities.
  • Promote the school’s Christian ethos and values in all interactions with students and colleagues.
  • Support the implementation of the school’s curriculum and learning strategies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • GCSE Maths and GCSE English (Level 4 and above)
  • An appropriate Level 3 qualification
  • Confident and competent use of day-to-day IT
  • Experience of working in a school environment
  • Ability to confidently deliver prepared lessons
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour in line with the school’s policy
  • Commitment to the school’s Christian ethos and values

Preferred

  • Background in teaching English or Maths
  • Experience with curriculum delivery and student support
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a school setting
