Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the English and Media Studies Faculty, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement a dynamic and engaging curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
  • Support staff through professional development, mentoring, and collaborative planning.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring consistent achievement and improvement.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align faculty goals with school-wide objectives.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and creativity in teaching and learning.
  • Coordinate and deliver courses across the age and ability range, including A-level.
  • Contribute to the ongoing success of the faculty through leadership and strategic planning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in teaching and leading a faculty in a school setting.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English and Media Studies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading a large and diverse faculty team.
  • Familiarity with A-level and GCSE courses in English and Media Studies.
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Strong track record in raising student achievement and attainment.
