The Opportunity:
The English Key Stage 4 Coordinator will play a pivotal role in shaping the quality of education for students in Key Stage 4. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the delivery of Key Stage 4 English, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
- Develop and implement strategies to raise student achievement and attainment.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and enhance teaching standards.
- Support the wider English department, including Key Stages 3 and 5 where appropriate.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of extra-curricular activities related to English.
- Participate in professional development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records and report on student performance and progress.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality lessons and support student learning.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment.
- Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in a senior or leadership role within a school setting.
- Familiarity with Key Stage 4 qualifications and assessment frameworks.
- Experience with pastoral care or student support initiatives.
- Knowledge of innovative teaching methods and technologies.
