The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the delivery of Key Stage 4 English, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement strategies to raise student achievement and attainment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and enhance teaching standards.
  • Support the wider English department, including Key Stages 3 and 5 where appropriate.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of extra-curricular activities related to English.
  • Participate in professional development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records and report on student performance and progress.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality lessons and support student learning.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • Experience in curriculum development and assessment.
  • Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a senior or leadership role within a school setting.
  • Familiarity with Key Stage 4 qualifications and assessment frameworks.
