The Opportunity:
As Curriculum Leader - English, you will lead a team of nine teachers and drive excellence in English across the school. This role offers the chance to shape the curriculum, foster collaboration, and make a lasting impact on student outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of nine teachers, fostering a culture of innovation and high expectations.
- Strategically develop and implement an engaging, inclusive English curriculum that delivers outstanding progress for all learners.
- Monitor and evaluate student outcomes, ensuring continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
- Support the delivery of a broad co-curricular programme to enrich student experience and personal development.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to align curriculum goals with school-wide objectives.
- Provide professional development and mentorship to teachers within the English faculty.
- Ensure the curriculum reflects the school’s mission of Education with Character, inspiring students to become confident and well-rounded individuals.
- Work closely with colleagues across the school to support whole-school improvement and innovation.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in an educational setting, with a track record of improving student outcomes.
- Strong subject knowledge in English, with experience in curriculum development and delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a team of teachers.
- Commitment to inclusive education and raising achievement for all students.
- Passion for teaching and learning, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Preferred
- Experience in a senior leadership role within a school or multi-academy trust.
- Familiarity with Education with Character and its principles.
- Experience in developing and delivering a co-curricular programme.
- Strong understanding of assessment and progression in English.
- Experience with data analysis to inform teaching and learning strategies.
