The Opportunity:

As a Curriculum Leader PE and Health & Social Care, you will provide strategic leadership and shape the long-term vision for two key curriculum areas. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student achievement and school improvement, while working in a collaborative, high-performing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead curriculum design, delivery, and evaluation across PE and Health & Social Care.
  • Monitor student progress and use performance data to raise achievement.
  • Provide strategic leadership to drive high-quality curriculum planning and improvement.
  • Support and develop staff to ensure consistently strong teaching and learning.
  • Ensure the curriculum is inclusive, engaging, and aligned with the school’s ethos.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve practice and raise standards.
  • Promote a positive school culture and contribute to the wider school community.
  • Manage resources and ensure effective use of time and facilities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a leadership or teaching role within PE and/or Health & Social Care.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum development and delivery.
  • Experience in raising standards of teaching and learning.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and support colleagues effectively.

Preferred

  • Experience in middle leadership or senior leadership roles.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and performance monitoring.
  • Experience with school improvement strategies.
  • Passion for PE and Health & Social Care with a commitment to student engagement and achievement.
  • Experience in working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
