The Opportunity:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Physical Education Teacher to join our team and inspire students aged 11 to 18. This role offers the opportunity to shape young minds through a dynamic and inclusive curriculum that supports both academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging physical education lessons that align with the school’s ethos and curricula.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that promote physical fitness, teamwork, and lifelong healthy habits.
  • Support students in achieving excellent outcomes through individualized instruction and assessment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate physical education with other subjects and extra-curricular activities.
  • Promote the Quaker values of equality, peace, and sustainability through teaching and school activities.
  • Participate in the school’s professional development programme and contribute to staff training.
  • Encourage student participation in sports and physical activities beyond the classroom.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge and experience in physical education.
  • Proven ability to deliver effective and engaging lessons to students aged 11 to 18.
  • Strong understanding of current curricula and assessment practices.
  • Commitment to the Quaker values of the school.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching in a co-educational setting.
  • Background in sports or physical activity coaching.
  • Experience with BTEC or equivalent qualifications.
  • Ability to contribute to extra-curricular sports and physical development programmes.
