The Opportunity:

Join a well-established Curriculum Support team at a school renowned for its commitment to excellence. As a Curriculum Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting teaching staff, managing classes, and contributing to the overall educational experience of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teachers and ensure good order and student engagement.
  • Follow teacher instructions and provide objective feedback on lesson conduct and student behavior.
  • Support students with special needs and maintain a well-disciplined, supportive environment.
  • Coordinate school trips and manage extracurricular activities, detentions, and study clubs.
  • Prepare and display curriculum materials and provide administrative support, including research and routine marking.
  • Ensure a tidy and well-presented working environment within department areas.
  • Undertake break, lunchtime, and examination supervision as required.
  • Keep up to date with role requirements through training and professional development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Educated to at least A-level standard (or equivalent).
  • GCSE grade C (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High standard of literacy and numeracy.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexibly and under pressure.
  • Excellent ICT skills (Word, Excel, email).
  • Ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Understanding of the education sector and willingness to contribute to school life.

Preferred

  • Degree-level education.
  • Previous experience in an educational setting, ideally a secondary school.
  • Experience working successfully as part of a team.
