The Opportunity:

As a Data & MIS Officer, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate, secure student and school data. Your work will support effective decision-making, improve student outcomes, and ensure the smooth operation of data processes across the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the school’s Management Information System (MIS) to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
  • Produce timely and accurate reports for the Senior Leadership Team and teaching staff.
  • Support statutory returns and ensure compliance with GDPR and data protection requirements.
  • Train staff on data systems and provide ongoing support for data-related queries.
  • Analyze student performance, attendance, and progress to inform school planning and improvement.
  • Collaborate with departments to ensure data is used strategically to drive student success.
  • Monitor and update data regularly to reflect changes in student and staff information.
  • Ensure data integrity and confidentiality across all processes and systems.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Previous experience working in a secondary school environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, multi-task, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Experience managing school MIS systems (e.g. Arbor).
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills with proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Understanding of GDPR and the importance of data confidentiality and integrity.

Preferred

  • Experience in a leadership or mentoring role within data management.
  • Knowledge of AI-based learning platforms or data analytics tools.
  • Experience with data visualisation or dashboard creation.
  • Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes through data analysis.
