Summary:

Deputy Director of Learning - Mathematics role with a focus on improving standards and raising pupil outcomes.

The Opportunity:

As a Deputy Director of Learning - Mathematics, you will play a key role in driving academic excellence and raising standards in mathematics. This is an opportunity to lead and support a dedicated faculty, develop an inspiring curriculum, and make a meaningful impact on student achievement and progression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the mathematics department to deliver high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student outcomes and attainment.
  • Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning to ensure consistent standards and continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with the Director of Learning to shape the curriculum and support teacher development.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to teachers and support staff to enhance professional practice.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the school to ensure a cohesive and effective approach to learning.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and creativity in mathematics education.
  • Ensure the effective use of resources and data to inform decision-making and support student progress.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status.
  • Ability to teach to GCSE standard.
  • Experience in leading a faculty and delivering sustained improvements in student attainment.
  • Strong organisational, motivational, and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to coach and motivate colleagues to achieve targets.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development and innovation.
  • Experience with leadership in a school or academy setting.
  • Experience in working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational organisation.
  • Experience with data analysis and performance monitoring.
