The Opportunity:
As Deputy Head of Design and Technology, you will play a key role in leading and supporting the delivery of high-quality Design and Technology education. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate professional to contribute to a school that is striving for excellence in all aspects of teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Curriculum Leader in the development and implementation of an ambitious and engaging Design and Technology curriculum.
- Manage and lead a team of Design and Technology staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
- Oversee the quality of teaching and learning across the Design and Technology department, ensuring consistent standards and student progress.
- Work closely with senior leadership to shape school-wide strategies and initiatives related to Design and Technology.
- Promote a culture of innovation and excellence, inspiring both staff and students to achieve their full potential.
- Collaborate with other subject leaders to ensure a cohesive and well-rounded educational experience for students.
- Monitor and evaluate student outcomes, providing data-driven insights to inform continuous improvement.
- Support the school’s mission and values, ensuring that all actions align with the principles of respect, responsibility, and resilience.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A strong background in Design and Technology, with a specialism in Food Technology, 3D Design, or Engineering.
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within education, preferably as a subject leader or deputy head.
- A commitment to high standards of teaching and learning, with a track record of delivering excellent student outcomes.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team of staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, students, and parents.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development and implementation.
- A passion for promoting innovation and creativity in Design and Technology education.
- Experience with professional development and staff training initiatives.
- Knowledge of current trends and best practices in Design and Technology education.
