Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality lessons in Criminology and Law, aligned with awarding organisation specifications.
  • Assess student work regularly and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Monitor and support student progress using the school’s in-house systems.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with students to foster a supportive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the development of the curriculum and collaborate with colleagues across departments.
  • Lead and participate in extra-curricular activities related to Criminology and Law.
  • Support the school’s mission by promoting inclusivity, academic excellence, and student wellbeing.
  • Maintain accurate records and report student progress to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in Criminology and Law.
  • Strong knowledge of the Criminology and Law curriculum and awarding organisation requirements.
  • Experience in delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Ability to assess and provide meaningful feedback to students.
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and pastoral care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading extra-curricular activities or trips.
  • Experience with inclusive teaching practices.
  • Experience in working within a large, multi-faceted educational institution.
  • Familiarity with the use of digital learning tools and resources.
  • Experience with safeguarding and student support procedures.
