The Opportunity:

As the Deputy Head of English Department, you will play a vital role in driving excellence within the department and supporting the Head of Department in delivering high-quality teaching and learning aligned with the Cambridge guidelines. Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Head of Department in leading and managing the English Department.
• Develop and implement a high-quality curriculum in line with the Cambridge guidelines and school standards.
• Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning to ensure consistent quality and student achievement.
• Mentor and train teachers to enhance pedagogical practice and professional development.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the school to support cross-curricular initiatives and student success.
• Manage departmental resources, including planning, scheduling, and administrative tasks.
• Engage with parents and the wider school community to promote the English Department's goals and achievements.
• Stay up to date with educational trends and innovations to enhance teaching and learning.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in education or a relevant subject; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Significant teaching experience, with a proven track record of impact in the classroom.
• Previous leadership or management experience, such as a coordinator or lead teacher.
• Strong understanding of the Cambridge guidelines and curriculum development.
• Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in using technology to enhance teaching and administration.
• A clean background or police check and suitability to work with children.

Preferred

• Experience in curriculum development and instructional planning.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and train teachers.
