The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate English Literature and Language Teacher to join our Secondary School team. This role is central to shaping students’ academic and personal growth through engaging and innovative teaching. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a high-quality curriculum that inspires a lifelong love of learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in English Literature and Language using the UK National Curriculum and Cambridge IGCSE and A Level syllabi.
  • Support students in developing both language and literary skills through a balanced and engaging approach.
  • Act as a pastoral tutor, contributing to the holistic development of students.
  • Participate actively in the school’s extracurricular programme, including competitions and events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning practices.
  • Provide constructive feedback and assessment to support student progress.
  • Engage with the House system, supporting students and events within the allocated House.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement in teaching practice.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Recognised teaching qualifications.
  • Experience teaching the UK National Curriculum in English.
  • Knowledge of Cambridge IGCSE English Literature and First Language, and A Level Literature in English.
  • Strong understanding of personalised learning, feedback, and assessment.
  • Commitment to student well-being and pastoral care.

Preferred

  • Experience in a British international school setting.
  • Experience with the House system and extracurricular activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver innovative teaching strategies.
  • Experience in a High Performance Learning (HPL) environment.
