The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a Deputy Head of Media and Performing Arts to provide leadership and support during maternity cover. This role is ideal for an experienced educator passionate about creative and performing arts, with a focus on driving student outcomes and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Faculty in maintaining outstanding results and academic standards
  • Oversee quality assurance of curriculum delivery across Media, Music, and Performing Arts
  • Strengthen and maintain strong industry partnerships with local and national employers
  • Collaborate with the Faculty Operations Officer to manage cover and support teaching teams
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and tutoring across a range of academic and vocational programmes
  • Drive attendance and engagement across subjects
  • Support the development and management of the Faculty team

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in teaching and leadership within Further Education
  • Strong background in creative and/or performing arts subjects
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and develop teams
  • Commitment to continual improvement in teaching and learning
  • Experience in quality assurance and curriculum development

Preferred

  • Experience in working with industry partners and employers
  • Familiarity with Level 2 and 3 academic and vocational programmes
  • Experience in media, music, or performing arts delivery
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
