The Opportunity:

As a Part Time Associate Lecturer in Roofing, you will play a key role in teaching apprentices the essential skills needed in the roofing trade. This is a hands-on, impactful position that allows you to share your industry knowledge and help shape the next generation of skilled workers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach apprentices how to install cladding sheeting materials to walls and roofs
  • Design and create teaching resources that support practical learning
  • Assess learners regularly and provide constructive feedback
  • Collaborate with the team to deliver engaging and effective learning experiences
  • Demonstrate the use of industry-specific tools and machinery
  • Ensure a safe and structured learning environment for all apprentices
  • Support learners in developing both technical and soft skills
  • Stay up to date with industry standards and best practices in roofing

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Background in the construction roofing trade
  • Experience in roofing sheeting, slating, or tiling
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and simply
  • Patient, approachable, and supportive nature
  • Willingness to work flexibly and adapt to changing requirements

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching or training
  • Previous experience in Further Education
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship frameworks
  • Familiarity with teaching qualifications or training programs
  • Confidence in using digital tools for teaching and learning
