Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the Head of Department in providing strategic and operational leadership across the Physical Education department
  • Take responsibility for the strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of the KS3 curriculum
  • Drive standards of progress and behaviour, ensuring robust assessment and data analysis processes
  • Implement targeted interventions to maximize student outcomes and achievement
  • Translate whole-school priorities into effective classroom practice and measurable impact at KS3
  • Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all learners
  • Support the development of students through a wide range of co-curricular activities and sporting opportunities

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience teaching GCSE PE and BTEC Sport
  • Evidence of securing strong pupil attainment and progress across key stages
  • Thorough understanding of relevant specifications and assessment criteria
  • Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

Preferred

  • Experience teaching A Level PE
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire students and staff
  • Experience in curriculum development and delivery
  • Knowledge of whole-school improvement strategies and initiatives

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range from £37,870pa to £56,154pa
  • Additional TLR2C allowance of £8,955pa
