As the Head of Religious Education, you will lead and inspire a subject team, driving high-quality teaching and learning to improve student outcomes and support whole-school improvement priorities. This is an exciting chance to make a real difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a subject team to deliver high-quality teaching and learning
  • Use data effectively to drive improvement and ensure strong outcomes for all students
  • Coach, mentor, and support colleagues to continually improve their practice
  • Contribute to whole-school improvement priorities and middle leadership initiatives
  • Ensure high standards of behaviour, engagement, and achievement across the subject
  • Engage with parents, SLT, and other stakeholders to support student success

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Excellent classroom practice with a passion for the subject
  • Experience of leading or the clear potential to lead and inspire others
  • Strong subject knowledge and secure understanding of curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment
  • Commitment to inclusive education and ensuring success for all students
  • Reflective, resilient, and committed to continuous professional development
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students

Preferred

  • Experience with middle leadership or subject leadership
  • Experience in developing and delivering CPD for colleagues
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment strategies
  • Experience in working with external partners or exam boards
