The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and inspiring Science Teacher and KS4 Coordinator to join our dynamic department. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student learning and to lead the delivery of high-quality science education at Key Stage 4. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of the department and supporting student achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Science across all key stages, including A Level, with a focus on practical and engaging learning.
  • Coordinate and manage the KS4 Science curriculum, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Support the development of the Science Department through leadership, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support to improve outcomes.
  • Work closely with colleagues to enhance the overall quality of science education and student experience.
  • Participate in professional development and contribute to the ongoing improvement of the department.
  • Promote the school's values and mission within the Science Department and across the academy.
  • Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed in the science laboratories and during practical lessons.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Science Teacher with relevant experience.
  • Experience in teaching Science at Key Stage 4 and beyond.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate a department effectively.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum leadership or coordination.
  • Knowledge of current science education trends and best practices.
  • Experience with KS4 exam preparation and success.
  • Experience in a Catholic or faith-based educational setting.
  • Strong track record in student achievement and progression.
