The Opportunity:
As a Design and Technology Teacher, you will play a key role in inspiring the next generation of designers by delivering engaging lessons in Product Design to Key Stage 3 students. You will contribute to a dynamic department and support the school's mission of fostering creativity and practical skills in a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in Product Design to Key Stage 3 students.
- Inspire creativity and develop practical skills through innovative teaching methods.
- Plan and deliver lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities.
- Manage the classroom effectively and motivate students to achieve their best.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the school to enhance the learning experience.
- Support the development of the Design and Technology department.
- Utilise relevant tools, equipment, and software to enhance student learning.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Minimum of three years’ teaching experience in Design and Technology, specifically Product Design.
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Strong knowledge of Key Stage 3 curriculum requirements.
- Excellent classroom management and student engagement skills.
- Proficient use of design and technology tools, equipment, and software.
Preferred
- Experience in developing and delivering cross-curricular projects.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL) or similar.
- Strong commitment to continuous professional development.
- Experience in supporting students with diverse learning needs.
