The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Science Teacher and KS3 Coordinator to join a well-resourced and successful department. This role offers the opportunity to inspire students, deliver high-quality Science education, and lead the KS3 curriculum. The successful candidate will be a key member of a supportive and driven team, contributing to the academic and personal growth of students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Science across the age and ability range, including A Level.
- Coordinate and lead the KS3 Science curriculum, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop innovative and engaging Science lessons.
- Manage and maintain Science labs and equipment, ensuring they are fully utilised for practical learning.
- Support students in achieving excellent exam results and fostering a passion for Science.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through extracurricular activities and pastoral care.
- Participate in professional development and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) opportunities.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant Science subject knowledge.
- Experience teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and beyond.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate a department.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-cultural and inclusive environment.
Preferred
- Experience in leading or coordinating a department.
- Experience with KS3 curriculum development and delivery.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with modern Science teaching methods and technologies.
- Experience in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) delivery or leadership.
