The Opportunity:
We are seeking a committed, practising Catholic to join as Deputy Head of School and Designated Safeguarding Lead. This role is pivotal in shaping the school's vision and ensuring the welfare of all students. The successful candidate will lead in both curriculum and pastoral areas, driving student progress and inspiring a passion for learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the Head of School in the strategic direction and management of the school.
- Oversee and develop the pastoral care system, ensuring the well-being and safety of all students.
- Implement and maintain robust safeguarding policies and procedures in line with statutory requirements.
- Work closely with staff, parents, and the wider community to promote a supportive and inclusive school environment.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching, learning, and student outcomes across the school.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the school’s Catholic mission and values.
- Support the leadership of the Sixth Form College and ensure its continued success.
- Represent the school at various meetings, events, and external forums.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A practising Catholic, meeting the criteria outlined by the Bishops of England and Wales.
- Proven leadership experience in an educational setting, ideally within a Catholic school.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and statutory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to drive improvement and achieve outstanding results in student progress and attainment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and students.
- Experience in managing and leading a large and diverse school community.
Preferred
- Experience in a senior leadership role, such as Deputy Head or Assistant Head.
- Familiarity with the distinctive nature of the Catholic curriculum and its integration into school life.
- Experience in pastoral leadership and student welfare.
- A commitment to promoting extra-curricular activities and student development beyond the classroom.
