Summary:

The Opportunity:

As Deputy Headteacher, you will support the Headteacher in leading the school, with a focus on developing and managing EYFS and KS1 provision. This is an ideal role for someone passionate about early years education and eager to grow into a leadership position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Headteacher in strategic leadership and management of the school
  • Lead and develop EYFS and KS1 curriculum and provision
  • Inspire and motivate teaching and support staff
  • Ensure high standards of teaching, learning, and pupil outcomes
  • Manage and monitor the quality of teaching and learning across EYFS and KS1
  • Work closely with senior leadership to implement school policies and initiatives
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding and child protection procedures

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Strong understanding of EYFS and KS1 curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in school leadership or management
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures

Preferred

  • Experience in leading and developing early years provision
  • Experience working in an inclusive or special needs setting
  • Experience in school improvement or strategic planning
  • Leadership training or qualifications
