The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Deputy Headteacher to lead and support the school's mission of delivering outstanding education for students with learning difficulties and special educational needs. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support the development of curriculum and assessment strategies for students with learning difficulties and SEND.
- Work closely with the Headteacher and leadership team to drive school improvement and strategic direction.
- Provide expert guidance and support to staff in the implementation of SEND best practices.
- Foster a positive and inclusive school culture that promotes mutual respect and student well-being.
- Manage and develop the school’s leadership team to ensure consistent standards of teaching and learning.
- Represent the school in the wider community and maintain strong relationships with parents and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements related to special educational needs.
- Support the delivery of a bespoke curriculum tailored to the needs of each student.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a special educational needs setting.
- Strong knowledge of SEND policy, curriculum development, and assessment practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire staff, students, and the wider community.
- Experience in managing and developing school leadership teams.
- Commitment to the school’s values and strategic direction.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar educational partnership.
- Background in teaching students with complex learning difficulties, including Autism and Down Syndrome.
- Experience in leading change initiatives and embedding innovative practices in education.
- Familiarity with the Ofsted inspection framework and a track record of achieving outstanding outcomes.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range from £86,803 to £100,540 per annum.
