The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to provide essential classroom support and assist in delivering a high-quality education to pupils with learning difficulties. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching staff in delivering lessons and managing classroom activities
  • Assist in the implementation of individualized learning plans and educational programmes
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with special educational needs
  • Monitor and record pupil progress and communicate updates to teaching staff
  • Promote positive behaviour and a safe, inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure consistency in teaching approaches
  • Adapt to different learning needs and provide tailored support to students
  • Participate in staff development and training opportunities

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing classroom environments
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting

Preferred

  • Experience in a special school or SEN setting
  • Knowledge of teaching strategies for pupils with learning difficulties and autism
  • Experience with curriculum planning and implementation
  • Understanding of SEND pedagogy and inclusive education practices
  • Previous experience in a multi-academy trust or similar educational partnership
