The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to provide essential classroom support and assist in delivering a high-quality education to pupils with learning difficulties. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teaching staff in delivering lessons and managing classroom activities
- Assist in the implementation of individualized learning plans and educational programmes
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with special educational needs
- Monitor and record pupil progress and communicate updates to teaching staff
- Promote positive behaviour and a safe, inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure consistency in teaching approaches
- Adapt to different learning needs and provide tailored support to students
- Participate in staff development and training opportunities
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing classroom environments
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting
Preferred
- Experience in a special school or SEN setting
- Knowledge of teaching strategies for pupils with learning difficulties and autism
- Experience with curriculum planning and implementation
- Understanding of SEND pedagogy and inclusive education practices
- Previous experience in a multi-academy trust or similar educational partnership
Compensation & Benefits:
