The Opportunity:

We are seeking a Learning Support Assistant to join our team and provide essential support in the classroom to ensure a high-quality education for our students. This role offers the flexibility to work on a full or part-time basis and is ideal for those looking to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people with learning difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in the classroom by assisting with learning activities and individual needs.
  • Work closely with teaching staff to ensure a consistent and effective approach to student support.
  • Adapt to different learning styles and provide individualised assistance where needed.
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Assist with the organisation and delivery of sensory and play-based learning experiences.
  • Support students in developing social, emotional, and communication skills.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of educational programmes tailored to individual needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A caring and positive attitude with a commitment to supporting students with learning difficulties.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to a range of learning environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with children and young people, preferably in a special education setting.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a special school or similar setting.
  • Experience with teaching students with autism or other learning difficulties.
  • Knowledge of sensory and play-based learning approaches.
  • Experience in supporting students with complex needs.
  • Willingness to undertake further training and professional development.
