Deputy Headteacher - Secondary SEMH School seeking experienced leader to drive academic and student outcomes.

The Opportunity:

A Deputy Headteacher is required to support the Headteacher in leading the secondary provision of the school and raising standards in teaching and learning. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on students' lives and work within a progressive multi-academy trust.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Headteacher in developing and implementing the school's vision and strategic priorities.
  • Lead and manage the secondary provision, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across all subjects.
  • Work closely with senior leaders and staff to improve academic outcomes and student well-being.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, including parents, governors, and external partners.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of staff and students, providing guidance and support where needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a culture of inclusion, respect, and high expectations across the school.
  • Collaborate with the Trust to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience as a middle or senior leader in a SEMH, alternative provision, or secondary mainstream setting.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders.
  • Experience in driving improvement in teaching and learning standards.
  • Commitment to inclusion, student well-being, and holistic education.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and complex environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in a multi-academy trust or similar collaborative educational setting.
  • Background in working with students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Knowledge of vocational education and pathways into further education or apprenticeships.
  • Experience in curriculum development and staff training.
