The Opportunity:

As a Deputy Headteacher - Sixth Form, you will play a key role in driving the strategic development of the school and supporting the Headteacher in maintaining its high standards of academic excellence. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and visionary leader to make a real impact on student outcomes and school performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Sixth Form, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality educational experience.
  • Work closely with the Headteacher to implement the school’s strategic vision and priorities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the academic performance of students, providing support and guidance where needed.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and staff across the school.
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of extra-curricular activities that enrich student life.
  • Support the professional development of teaching and support staff within the Sixth Form.
  • Contribute to the overall governance and management of the school.
  • Ensure that the school’s values and ethos are upheld and promoted throughout the Sixth Form.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a school or educational institution.
  • A strong track record in leading and managing a Sixth Form or equivalent department.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively at all levels.
  • A commitment to academic excellence and student achievement.
  • A relevant teaching qualification and leadership experience.

Preferred

  • Experience in a Deputy Headteacher or similar senior leadership role.
  • Experience in managing large student cohorts and overseeing academic performance.
  • Familiarity with the requirements and challenges of a selective, high-achieving school.
  • Experience in leading and developing extra-curricular provision.
