The Opportunity:

As a Senior Cover Supervisor, you will manage whole-class environments for students from Year 9 through to Post-16 during short-term teacher absences. You will also support students through small-group interventions, helping them overcome barriers to learning and reach their academic potential in a dynamic, inclusive setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage whole-class environments effectively during short-term teacher absences, maintaining a purposeful and orderly atmosphere.
  • Deliver small-group intervention sessions to support students in overcoming learning barriers and achieving academic success.
  • Promote inclusive education by supporting learners with individual needs and fostering independence.
  • Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and staff to ensure a supportive and collaborative environment.
  • Collaborate with teaching teams to ensure continuity of learning and alignment with curriculum goals.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies that enhance student engagement and achievement.
  • Support the school’s mission by promoting a professional ethos and culture aligned with industry expectations.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in education and supervision.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • 5 A*-C (or 9-4) grades at GCSE including English and Maths.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Experience in supporting learners with individual needs to promote inclusion and independence.
  • Ability to maintain positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to manage whole classes effectively during short-term teacher absences, maintaining a purposeful and orderly environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in a business-led educational environment.
  • Knowledge of STEM and engineering education.
  • Experience in mentoring or leading small-group interventions.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software and digital tools used in education.
