The Opportunity:
This is a unique leadership opportunity for a Deputy SENDCo to shape and lead a new Specialist Resource Base (SRB) for pupils with Moderate Learning Differences (MLD). The role involves building a specialist provision from the ground up, ensuring students receive a tailored, inclusive curriculum that supports their growth and future success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a dedicated team of specialist teachers and support staff within the SRB.
- Develop and implement an inclusive and ambitious curriculum tailored to the needs of students with MLD.
- Collaborate closely with the SENDCo to influence whole-school practice and ensure integration of SRB students into the mainstream community.
- Monitor and evaluate student progress, ensuring outcomes are aligned with the school’s vision and educational goals.
- Support the strategic growth and development of the SRB, working with stakeholders to secure resources and opportunities.
- Foster strong relationships with parents, colleagues, and external partners to enhance student outcomes.
- Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the SRB and across the school.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and legal requirements related to SEND provision.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in a SENDCo or similar leadership role, ideally within a specialist resource base setting.
- Strong knowledge of educational provision for students with Moderate Learning Differences (MLD).
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Experience in curriculum design and delivery, with a focus on inclusion and differentiation.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Preferred
- Experience in managing the development of new educational provisions or initiatives.
- Familiarity with the Corvus Learning Trust or similar multi-academy trusts.
- Experience with inclusive education strategies and best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
