Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and high-quality lessons that inspire a love of History.
- Develop and implement a rigorous and challenging curriculum for Key Stage 3, 4, and 5.
- Support students in achieving excellent results and progressing to the next stage of their education.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and continuously improve teaching and learning.
- Monitor and assess student progress to ensure all learners make exceptional progress.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
- Participate in departmental and whole-school initiatives to support student well-being and achievement.
- Stay up to date with developments in the History subject and incorporate new teaching strategies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS.
- Proven experience of teaching History at Key Stage 3, 4 and 5.
- Strong knowledge of the History curriculum and assessment requirements.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.
Preferred
- Experience of teaching in a high-achieving school or multi-academy trust.
- Experience of leading or contributing to curriculum development.
- Experience of working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Experience of using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
