Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality lessons that inspire a love of History.
  • Develop and implement a rigorous and challenging curriculum for Key Stage 3, 4, and 5.
  • Support students in achieving excellent results and progressing to the next stage of their education.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and continuously improve teaching and learning.
  • Monitor and assess student progress to ensure all learners make exceptional progress.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Participate in departmental and whole-school initiatives to support student well-being and achievement.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the History subject and incorporate new teaching strategies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS.
  • Proven experience of teaching History at Key Stage 3, 4 and 5.
  • Strong knowledge of the History curriculum and assessment requirements.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching in a high-achieving school or multi-academy trust.
  • Experience of leading or contributing to curriculum development.
  • Experience of working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Experience of using technology to enhance teaching and learning.
